Hello, thank you for the article. How do you measure with HRV4 Training at night? Thank you.

Ah, thank you!

Is there a way to enter two HRV measurements from two different devices for one day?

I guess what I’m really asking is how are you keeping track of your HRV from different devices?

Thanks again!

indeed not possible, I use different phones normally.

Gotcha, thanks. That’s kinda what I figured.

hello Gregory, thank you, I use an Oura ring and then read the data in HRV4Training in the morning

Ah, gotcha, thanks!

Any chance HRV4Training will be able to read Garmin overnight HRV data at some point? 😉

After the first images you changed the left/right (morning/night), which confused me for a second. Anyway, great post as usual.

sorry about that! I will make sure to keep it consistent in the future, and thank you for your support

Do you follow a strict protocol in the morning test in the HRV4training app? Mine is just the standard 30seconds with a heart rate strap but if I measure twice I can get two completely different readings. Also not sure which would be better cyclic breathing or natural breathing.

Trying to get a consistent routine in how I measure, now in a sitting position without too much walking around before (Also find even walking around in the last 5 mins before affects the result like a blood pressure test)

hi there, normally I wake up, sit, and measure within about 30 seconds. Normal breathing is recommended (do not deep breathe in this occasion, just your regular resting, relaxed breathing). Some more pointers here: https://medium.com/@altini_marco/how-should-you-measure-your-morning-heart-rate-variability-hrv-de5c6a1f33a2 - make sure also not to yawn or swallow, because you could create artifacts in the data. Normally if these tips are followed, small differences are expected in repeated measures (5-15 ms in rMSSD or 0.3 HRV in the app)

excellent, I will try to set a new basis. Already find the app powerful but no doubt I have created some artefacts in my historical data.
