I'm so glad you mentioned this in today's email update! My HRV has been down in the yellow for two weeks despite feeling fine with stable HR. My “Relationship between HRV and RR interval length” is -0.25 for the past 2 weeks and -0.16 for the past 6 weeks.

I already measure in the mornings, sitting up. I get readings (deemed "optimal") from the 20s up to the 150s, and the daily advice rarely has any correlation to how I feel or my HR. I know Oura HRV is borderline useless but it's been stable for months, always within a narrow band.

Could it be that HRV just isn't a useful metric for me to track?

thanks Brian, I wouldn't exclude it, there are always "corner cases" in which the typical interpretations might be less applicable, for one reason or the other!
