Hi Marco, thanks for the article. Can you please give an example when to adjust the training when using the second method from the following quote with the values shown in your pictures?
Research has moved from the first to the second, now mostly focusing on weekly suppressions. If you'd like to try that approach, compare your Baseline in HRV4Training with the bottom part of the normal range, to potentially adjust your training on a given day.
thanks Marcel! In the app homepage, you can see your normal range (e.g. my current one is 51 - 72), it is reported below the image showing the normal range (here I am using rMSSD but you are probably seeing the HRV score, unless you also have Pro: https://www.hrv4training.com/in-app-pro.html
Below, you can also see your baseline, in the first box where you also have the daily advice (e.g. mine is 53). Given that my baseline is within my normal range, the advice would be to proceed as planned. If my Baseline was below 51, then the advice would be to take it easy. In the app, we use the daily score, not the baseline, for the advice. But since the values are there, you can ignore our messaging and use the Baseline to determine the course of action.
Of course in reality a mix of approaches is best, as you might be acutely sick, and this might not still be reflected in the baseline, which by definition, requires a few bad days to go below normal range, as it is the average of the past week
